The highlight of Sac City All Star Weekend signatures events will be the Sac City All Star Game (SCASG20) on Sunday, August 9th. SCASG20 consists of a 7-inning co-ed celeb filled softball game with a twist.
In years past, the SCASG has been one to remember. KOCI All Star East squad pulled out the come from behind win scoring 7 runs in the final inning to beat the KOCI All Stars West squad 16 to 12 year one. The West squad pulled out a 1 point revenge victory on a 2 run in-field homer by former Kings Player Bobby Jackson year two. Year three ended in a route 21-12 as the West squad took that game. Year four ended in a 16-10 West come from behind route of the East team.
This year’s team format will be a bit different as the one all star team will consist of athletes and celebs and the other team consisting of some of Sacramento’s finest law enforcement officers, fire fighters and city officials.
The field will be packed with superstars and former superstar players from the NBA, WNBA, NFL, comedians, actors and actresses, community leaders, local law enforcement, politicians, local celebrities, as well as local radio and television personalities, musical guest and more.
The game will have standard baseball rules, but will not have the standard game feel. The audience will enjoy an up tempo softball game with music, special guest PA announcers and more. On the field, both teams will be managed by a celebrity guest coach.
Prior to SCASG20, families will enjoy an exciting SCASG20 pregame FANFARE experience. The pregame event will consist of a Home Run Derby, special prize-winning contest for the fans and more.
The SCASG game was the first of its kind here in Sacramento, and it’s going to be even bigger and better this year and for years to come. This event will be the final signature event of a spectacular well thought out and well-planned Sac City All Star Weekend 2020.
